Alex Pietrangelo scored at 1:53 of overtime to give the Vegas Golden Knights (37-13-2) a 3-2 overtime victory against the Minnesota Wild (33-14-5) on Wednesday night at Xcel Energy Center.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
The first period was laden with penalties from both sides, but Vegas and Minnesota finished the frame as they started at 0-0. Midway through the second period, Mattias Janmark set up Chandler Stephenson for the game's first goal. Kirill Kaprizov scored twice in the third period to give Minnesota a 2-1 lead, but Reilly Smith's power-play goal knotted the score at 2-2. Early in the extra session Alex Tuch fed Pietrangelo for the game-winning goal as the Golden Knights earned the extra point.

Chandler Stephenson: Stephenson added to his career-high in goals with his 13th on the year.
Reilly Smith: Smith's 10th goal of the season tied the game with 4:16 to play.
Alex Pietrangelo: Pietrangelo buried his 5th goal of the season to seal the win.
STAT OF THE KNIGHT
Marc-Andre Fleury's 490th career win put him ahead of Roberto Luongo and gave him sole possession of third on the all-time wins list. The win also helped the Golden Knights improve to 8-0-0 in overtime this season.
